Most men have plenty of people to talk to and almost no one to think with. At the Essence exists to close that gap. It is a recurring, in-person group where men in Denver examine the beliefs and unconscious patterns that shape their lives.
Each meeting is built around a theme and a set of discussion prompts. We talk openly, listen closely, and give each other room to look honestly at limitations, assumptions, and the reasons behind how we think and act.
Every meeting follows a simple, deliberate shape.

A theme
We open with one theme: belief, fear, ambition, control, connection. It gives the conversation a spine instead of drifting.

A few honest questions get us past small talk quickly. Everyone gets room to respond. No performing, no fixing.

We talk about what's actually going on, and what sits underneath it. The point is to think clearly, not to reach a tidy conclusion.

Together we look at the beliefs and reactions we usually run on autopilot, and notice what they're costing or protecting.

I started At the Essence because I wanted a space like this in Denver and couldn't find one.
